About this service
We offer door-to-door transport to people who are frail, elderly, disabled and isolated.
You will be expected to pay the driver a fee of 45p per mile from the drivers house to yours then 50p per mile from your house to your destination and then the return. This is to cover the cost of fuel, insurance, wear-and-tear etc. (These are the current HMRC mileage rates). PLEASE NOTE: From 1st September 2023 we are adding an additional £1 booking fee to cover the increased office overheads.
A normal journey would include up to a three hour wait before embarking on your return trip. Longer waiting times can be arranged, but these would incur additional cost as the driver would return home to carry out another drive and therefore a double journey would be involved.

On average our team of volunteer drivers travel around 97,000 miles each year. This is approximately equivalent to three times around the world!

On average our volunteer drivers give up 5,616 hours of their own time to help others in the local community.
