VCAEC works in partnership with local, regional and national strategic bodies to:
- Represent the views of the voluntary sector in East Cambs.
- Ensure East Cambs voluntary and community groups are kept informed about current initiatives and policies affecting their group and service users.
- Where possible to ensure that the East Cambs voluntary sector benefit from projects planned in the area.
- Feed key decisions made at the meetings back to your group.

- Cambridgeshire Voluntary Sector Consortium (CVSIC)
- Council for Voluntary Services CVS5 ( a body made up of VCAEC, Cambridge Council for Voluntary Service and Huntsforum)
- Volunteering Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
- East Cambs Community Safety Partnership
- NAVCA - National Association of Voluntary and Community Action
- Volunteering England this has now merged with NCVO the national council for voluntary organisations
